March 2026 Workshop: CBT for Insomnia - When Sleep Hygiene Just Isn't Enough
Tuesday, March 24, 2026, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM EDT
Category: Workshops
Presented by Shelby Harris, Psy.D., DBSM CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I) is considered by numerous medical societies as the gold standard, first-line treatment for insomnia, ahead of medication. Despite the guidelines routinely recommending CBT-I, the treatment is massively under-utilized. Far too few clinicians are well-trained in the CBT-I, with many not even knowing about the treatment at all. Older models of insomnia care typically thought of insomnia as a “secondary” symptom in relation to a “primary” issue, further delaying appropriate treatment. This introductory talk will discuss the basics of insomnia diagnosis, as well as current conceptualizations of insomnia as a comorbidity. The basics of CBT-I treatment will be covered, with attendees understanding how to incorporate basic modules of the treatment into their own practice. In addition, providers will have a solid grounding in when to refer patients for more in-depth sleep evaluation and/or treatment. REGISTER HERE |
