Welcome to the website of the Suffolk County Psychological Association, a professional association for psychologists in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. SCPA's mission is to promote the profession of psychology in Suffolk County through fellowship, education and advocacy. Our members provide a wide variety of psychological services to individuals, couples and families including psychotherapy, counseling and evaluations in their private practices, schools, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and universities.

This site has a searchable database to help you find a psychologist near you, one who treats a specific kind of problem, is in your insurance plan, or provides a specific type of treatment. In addition, the Committee for Reduced Fee Services has a list of psychologists who have volunteered to treat people without insurance for a reduced fee.

SCPA is committed to providing continuing education opportunities by offering monthly workshops on a wide range of psychological topics (list of recent past workshops). Our website also provides links to valuable information for professionals and the public on topics such as preventing school violence, running marathons, and resources addressing specific disorders.

If you are a Psychologist interested in joining the association, check out our "TOP 10 REASONS TO JOIN SCPA" and use the link on this page to download an application. New members are always welcome, and now is a great time to join SCPA as we are offering a reduced rate for first-time Full or Associate Members. We have also launched a "New Member Referral" program where current members who bring in new Full or Associate members will receive a $25 credit towards next year’s dues.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or we can be of help.

Warm regards,

Diane Sherlip, Ph.D.,
SCPA President
